Saturday 28th March 11am for approximately 3 hours.

This workshop is perfect for those looking to reconnect with nature in a new way and learn the basics around safe foraging.

We will take you on a walk through our meadows, hedgerows and woodland and show you how to identify some easy and delicious spring edibles and talk you through the risks and show you some lookalikes so that you can pick with knowhow and confidence after you leave. We aim to fill your head with helpful ID tips, interesting folklore, history and health benefits without overwhelming you with too much scientific terminology, focusing more so on how best to make the most out of the food you can pick for free in the safest way.

At the end of the walk we will retreat to a social space where you will find creative culinary samples (such as oils and syrups) for you to taste and discuss that have been created using the plants we have identified on the walk. We will also provide a light Mezze style lunch with foraged ingredients. Tea and coffee will also be available.

After the walk we will also provide you with a digital fact sheet in case you need refreshing before your next adventure.

You will need:

  • Comfortable footwear and appropriate clothing - We hope for sunshine and blue skies but as it’s England in spring you never know.

  • A notepad or camera if you plan to take notes on the edibles we find along the way

  • To inform us of any dietary requirements in advance so we can cater to your needs. Our menu will be vegetarian

  • We have tap water available but recommend bringing your own bottles should you want some on the walk

FAQs

  • Dogs- As much as we would love to have your furry friends join us, they unfortunately will not appreciate foraging as much as we do due to frequent stops during the walk to observe plants and sometimes in tighter spaces. They may get a little restless, step on the plants or eat something they shouldn’t. Therefore we would kindly ask you to leave them at home this time so you can make the most of your time with us on the walk.

  • Accessibility- The walk will take around 1-1.5 hours on a fairly easy terrain but we will be walking through meadows and sloping grass pathways so unfortunately this route is not accessible to everyone. Please contact us if you have any queries regarding this.

  • Dietary requirements- We are always keen to cater to all dietary needs and would hate for anyone to go hungry so we would ask you to let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly. We tend to use dairy, wheat and some nightshades in our food and work in a kitchen that is not exclusively nut-free.

  • Age Limit - All ages welcome but anyone under 16 must be accompanied.

  • Parking -  We have on site parking near the start point of the walk.

  • When to arrive - Please try to arrive 10 minutes before we start.

  • Cancellations - Please try to give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. If cancellations are made within 24 hours before the walk we may not be able to refund you

After placing your order, you will be emailed a digital ticket for the event, you don't need to bring this with you.
